Booking

How do I book a workshop?

Fill out the request form with a preferred date and a backup date. We’ll check availability and try to get back to you the same day to confirm the details. Nothing is booked automatically.

Is my date confirmed when I submit the form?

Not yet. The form is a request. Your date is confirmed once we reply and you approve the details.

How far ahead should I book?

For Chanukah, 4–6 weeks ahead is ideal. Weekday afternoons and the Sunday of Chanukah fill first. Other holidays usually need 3–4 weeks.

How much does a workshop cost?

$350 per workshop, plus a per-child charge that varies by program. Ask us for a quote for your group.

Can I request a workshop that isn’t in season yet?

Yes. Request any date and we’ll confirm it right away.

The workshops

What ages are the workshops for?

All ages. They’re built with kids in mind, and adults love the Shofar Factory too.

How many kids can participate?

Most workshops run up to 30 kids per session so everyone gets hands-on. For bigger groups we run back-to-back sessions or rotations. The Purim Puppet Show is a show to watch, so it can seat up to 500 kids.

How long is a workshop?

45 minutes, plus about 30 minutes for us to set up beforehand.

Do the kids get to eat or use what they make?

Yes. In the Olive Press, the oil they make lights the menorah. In the Matzah Bakery, everyone eats their matzah on the spot.

Logistics

What space do you need?

Typically two 6-ft tables, a power outlet and room for the group to gather. Each workshop page lists exactly what we bring and what you provide.

Where do you travel?

We serve the DFW metroplex.

Is it messy?

A little, in the good way. Olives and flour get around, so a space where a little mess is OK works best.
