Rosh Hashanah

Shofar Factory

How does a ram’s horn become a shofar? Kids see every stage, from raw horn to finished shofar, and learn to blow the sounds of Rosh Hashanah. Book it as a demo, or have each child cut, drill and sand their own shofar for an extra $10 per child.

What happens

Step by step

  1. The horn

Kids see and feel raw horns from different animals and learn which ones make a kosher shofar.

  2. Cut & drill

We show how a horn is cut and drilled, step by step. With the make-your-own option, each child does this on their own horn.

  3. Sand

The horn gets sanded smooth. With the make-your-own option, kids do the sanding themselves.

  4. Sound it

Everyone learns tekiah, shevarim and teruah, and gets a turn to try.

Two ways to book it

Shofar demo

Kids see every stage up close, touch the horns and hear the shofar. They don’t make their own.

Make your own shofar +$10 per child

Each child cuts, drills and sands a shofar of their own.
